Dr. G.R. Queen Jr., 96, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Dr. Queen was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, May 28, 1920, a son of the late George R. Queen Sr. and Grace Howard Queen. He is survived by many relatives. In 1943 Dr. Queen graduated from the Louisville University School of Dentistry. He entered the United States Army where he served three years. Dr. Queen set up his practice in Greenup, Kentucky where he practiced for 37 years and retired in 1983. Funeral services will be held at the Vanceburg United Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 with visitation beginning at 8 A.M. and lasting till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M., Preacher Tom Cox Jr. will be officiating at the service and Pastor Janis Barton will give the closing Prayer. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery.
