Gayle Newton Sanders "Newt" 86 of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Dec. 12, 2020. Born in the small village of "Beattyville", 15 October 1934 in South Portsmouth, Kentucky to the late Edgar and Lois Rowley Sanders. Graduated from the Portsmouth High School, attended the University of Arizona, 30 years Military service. Retired US Army, First Sargent, 2nd Armored Division. Overseas tours in Korea, Japan, Okinawa and Germany.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy A. (Harriss) Sanders, sons, Douglas, Donald and David, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky from 12 noon on June 9, 2021. Gravesides services will be held at 1 p.m. at the MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Military graveside services will be held by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
