Garnet L. Adkins, 97 of South Shore, Kentucky, passed away May 5, 2015 in Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born in Argillite, Kentucky, Sept. 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Frank Stafford and Katie Carr May, a member of South Shore Church of God, Second and Robbins. Surviving are two sons, Steve Adkins of Russell, Kentucky and Danny "Vickie" Adkins of South Shore, Kentucky, two daughter in laws, Tana Adkins of South Shore, Kentucky, Wanda Adkins of Lloyd, Kentucky, one brother, Gene May of Argillite, Kentucky, one sister, Hilda Arnett of Stanford, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one son, Gregory Adkins, one brother, Bud May, two sisters, Gladys Sparks and Betty May. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Kenneth Potter, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 and one hour before the funeral hour on Saturday.
