Freda Dotson, 97, of South Shore, Kentucky, passed away Feb 27, 2015 in Hempstead Manor in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born in Grayson, Kentucky,  Jan. 12, 1918, a daughter of the late William Jackson and Ida Mae Dowdy Jackson, a member of the South Shore First United Methodist Church in South Shore, Kentucky, former employee of Selby Shoe Company and a former nurses aid at Scioto Memorial Hospital. Surviving are two sons, Paul "Paula" Dotson of Athens, Ohio, Scott "Tammy" Dotson of Siloam, Kentucky, one daughter Debbie Musser of South Shore, Kentucky, two sisters, Dorothy Cambell of South Shore, Kentucky and Helen Rice of Columbus, Ohio, three grandchildren, one  great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John Dotson, Dec. 2, 1987 to whom she married March 31, 1934, four brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Charles Mallory, officiating. Burial will follow in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral home from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2015 and from 11 A.M. till the funeral hour at 1 P.M. on Monday.
