Essie Ellen Allen Elliott, 94, of Portsmouth, OH., went to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in South Shore, KY., May 8, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Ellen Fraley Allen.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Elliott; eleven siblings, Richard, Emma, Bertha, Mary, John, Lucille, Garnet, Charles, Bud, Doris, and Jim; also her dog Little Bit.

Essie loved God and family; she was a longtime member of the Apostolic Gospel Church in Portsmouth, OH. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters; her passions were purses, clothes, and hats. She loved flowers and was full of life and laughter.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Alex Bledsoe and Jason Bledsoe, both of Portsmouth, OH; one granddaughter, Novalee Bledsoe; one twin sister, Bessie Roe of South Shore, KY; and several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Robert Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Allen-Harr Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday at the funeral home from 12 P.M. until the funeral hour.
