Emma A. Stevens, 93, of Wheelersburg, OH., a former resident of South Shore, KY., went to be with her Lord Monday, November 17, 2014 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. She was born June 12, 1921 in Fullerton, KY., a daughter of the late John Allen and Ellen Fraley Allen.
She was a Dietician for fifty years and retired from Southern Ohio Medical Center where she spent her last 20 years and also a Member of the Wheelersburg Baptist Church in Wheelersburg, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband George William Sherman Stevens, one daughter Betty Jean Stevens, two sisters Doris Moore and Bertha Fout, three brothers Charles Allen, Bud Allen, and Jimmy Allen, two grandchildren Sharon Kay Stevens and Tammy Copas. She is also preceded in death by one son in law Jack McGahan and one great grandson.
Emma is survived by three sons George Stevens JR of Portsmouth, OH., Roger (Margie) Stevens of Buena Vista, OH., and Mike (Beverly) Stevens of West Portsmouth, OH., four daughters Shirley Clark of Pedro, OH., Marie McGahan of Wheelersburg, OH., Rosemary (Rex) Fitzgerald of Sciotoville, OH., and Roxann Stevens of Columbus, OH. Emma is also survived by one brother Richard Allen of Piketon, OH., five sisters Lucille Bishop of East Palestine, OH., Mary Browning of Piketon, OH., Essie Elliot of Portsmouth, OH., Bessie Roe and Garnet Roe both of South Shore, KY., twenty four grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Rev. Danny Deck, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, OH. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 11 A.M. till the funeral hour on Friday. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
