Elcie Christine Bear Smith, 89, of Franklin, OH, formerly of Greenup, KY, went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 8, 2026, at The Ridge in Miamisburg, OH. She was born in Greenup, KY, on  January 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Oscar and Mallie Brown Bear.

Elcie was a wonderful woman of God. She loved sewing, quilting, shopping, gardening, babies, and working in her flower bed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Smith; one son, Donnie Smith; and one brother, Burl Bear.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Larry (Cindy) Smith of Coldsprings, TX and Ricky Smith of Carlisle, OH; two daughters, Diane Hursh of Franklin, OH and Starr (Malcolm) Johnson of Franklin, OH; one sister, Betty Leonard; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be 12 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Chris Cramer officiating. Burial will follow at Boone Furnace Cemetery in Carter County, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
