Obituary

Edward E. "Pumkin" Hale, 82, of Akron, Ohio a former Greenup County resident, passed away May 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born Jan. 23, 1932 in Lynn, Kentucky, a son of the late Wade Hale and Elizabeth Dunn Hale. Was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Preceded in death by his wife, Billie F. Hale, Sept. 9, 1984, one son, Randall Hale, one brother, Pete Hale, one sister Carol Sue Hale Smith and step mother, Jean Hale and a son in law, Mark Lamp. Surviving are three daughters, Lisa Herczeg, Lois Lamp, Diane "Larry" Lamp, one son, Terry Hale all of Akron, Ohio, one brother, Robert Hale of Ocala, Florida, two sisters, Norma Jean Latham of Waverly, Ohio and Dottie VanPelt of Talamadge, Ohio, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a special friend, his dog Chrissey. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, May 16, 2014 at the South Shore Church of God, Second and Robbins, South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Lynn, Kentucky. Friends may call at the South Shore Church of God from 6 P.M. till 8P.M. on Thursday May 15, 2014 and one hour before services on Friday.
