Obituary

Edward Fisher, Jr., 90, of Garrison, KY., died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. He was born September 15, 1925 in Brushart, KY., the eldest son of the late Ed and Goldie Ham Fisher. He was a blacksmith for the C&O Railroad, New York Central Railroad and a welder at General Motors Auto Plant in Columbus, OH. Edward was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS LST #656. He had many stories to tell and never met a stranger. Edward enjoyed the Horse Progress Days, Border Collie Trials, reading, traveling, the outdoors and animals. Most of all he encouraged learning and loved his family very much. He was the world's best husband and father and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife Mary Rosena Ramey Fisher who he married on July 21, 1950 at Apostolic Church in New Boston, OH., one daughter Mrs. Sue Ann (Greg) Henley of Lakeville, OH., three grandchildren Aaron Gregory Lee Henley of Lakeville, OH., Sarah Elizabeth Kim Henley of Wooster, OH., and Scott Edward Kim Henley of Bowling Green, OH., one sister Martha (Jake) Yazell, two brothers Earnest (Barb) Fisher and Melvin (Loretta) Fisher, one brother in law Edward (Lelia) Ramey. He also has many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by four sisters Minnie Griggs, Olive Evans, Madeline White, and Opal Tenant, seven in laws Marie Stone, Nellie Hale, Ethel Stephenson, Dorothy Humphrey, G.A. Ramey, Alice Rippel, and John Ramey. Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Words and Prayer by Joe Schieber. Burial will follow at Parsons Cemetery in Garrison, KY. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour on Thursday. A special love and thanks to his brother Earnest (Barb) Fisher and his family Paul (Lisa), Dorothy (Jack), Samantha (Seth), and Norma (Danny) for being by his side every day.
