Dorothy Jean Gillispie Winters Hamilton Cooper, 79, of Portsmouth, Ohio went to be with her heavenly father, Feb. 25, 2021. Dorothy was born Dec. 12, 1941 in Robertsburg, West Virginia to the late Clarence and Louise Gillispie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cooper, two grandsons, Gary Clifford III and Cory Hobbs, one daughter, Kimberly Jo Winters.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Gary) Williams of Portsmouth, Ohio, Sherry (Conrad) Snyder of Gainsville, Florida, Pamela (Bobby) Masters of Columbus, Ohio, Claudette Hamilton Pennywitt of Portsmouth, Ohio, five step children and her beloved dog Dixie, one sister, Shirley Giddens of North Carolina and eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Brent Powell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Veterans Cemetery North East, Grayson, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral home from 6 till 8 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 and from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 12 on Tuesday. Due to Covid restrictions face coverings and social distancing will be required.

In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
