Obituary

Donald Ray Collier, 83, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born Aug. 25, 1930 in Fullerton, Kentucky, a son of the late Enoch Otho Collier and Clara Pearl Major Collier. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Boilermaker Local 105 of Piketon, Ohio, a member of the Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, Kentucky., a Korean War Veteran and a Member of the Sunshine United Methodist Church, South Shore, Kentucky. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joann Wright. Surviving are his wife, Betty Smith Collier to whom he married May 23, 1953, one son, Randy "Vicki" Collier of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, four daughters, Cheryl "Richard" Fugate of South Shore, Kentucky, Vicky "Mike" Hieneman of Greenup, Kentucky, Gay "John" Woloschek of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Lorie Wise of Georgetown, Kentucky, one brother, Enoch "Bud" Otho Collier of Lorain, Ohio, Two sisters, Zelma Starrett of Portsmouth, Ohio and Nancy Abbott of Amelia, Ohio, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services 1 P.M. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Sunshine United Methodist Church in South Shore, Kentucky, with Rev. David Herndon and Rev. Charles Mallory, officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Callers at the Sunshine United Methodist Church in South Shore, Kentucky from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Thursday and from 11 A.M. till the funeral hour on Friday. Masonic services by Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, Kentucky. Military graveside services by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 of Portsmouth, Ohio.
