Donald Ray Buckler

Donald Ray Buckler, 86, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayson, Kentucky. He was born on September 21, 1939, in Lower Grassy, Kentucky, and was the son of the late William and Bessie Sexton Buckler.

Don retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad, where he worked as a brakeman. He had a strong work ethic and cherished his church family at Rubyville Community Church. Don also enjoyed traveling to Lake Erie.

He was preceded in death by five sisters: Modie Lewis, Elsie Stafford, Delpha Webb, Faye Hall, and Betty Gerson; and three brothers: Byron Buckler, Ottis Buckler, and Robert Buckler.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky, with Brian Baer officiating. Visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 AM until 1 PM. Burial will follow at Rubyville Community Cemetery in Rubyville, Ohio.
