Donald Ellis Adkins, 82, of South Shore, KY, passed away Nov. 6, 2018 in South Shore Nursing and Rehab Center in South Shore, KY. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Aug. 8, 1936, a son of the late Ellis Adkins and Ruth Amanda Warnock Adkins. Don was a member of Load Christian Baptist Church and a Army Air Force Veteran.

Preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Owens.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Adkins, one son, Stephen (Jill) Adkins of Sommerville, Tenn, one daughter, Debbie (Leonard ) McGlone of South Shore, KY, three brothers, Herbert Adkins of Irving, Texas, David Adkins of South Portsmouth, KY, Roger Adkins of Marysville, Ohio, two sisters, Norma Bowling of South Shore, KY and Fay Helms of Zanesville, Ohio, five grandchildren, Jason McGlone, Aaron McGlone, Joseph Wilson, Reagan Adkins, Ryan Elizabeth Adkins, four great grandchildren, Titus McGlone, Addison McGlone, Nora McGlone and Whitley McGlone.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with Jason McGlone, officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Grayson, KY. Friends may call at the Funeral home from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 and from 10 A.M. till the Funeral hour on Friday.
