Dewey Lewis, 83, of South Shore, passed away Oct. 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1933 in South Shore, Kentucky to the late Walker Lewis and Martha Castle Lewis. Dewey was a Kentucky Colonel and a retired diesel mechanic.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Lewis and J.B. Lewis, three sisters, Virgie Bentley, Vada Workman and Verna Jobe.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Sparks Lewis to whom he married June 1, 1963, three sons, Dewey R. (Sri) Lewis of Raceland, Kentucky, Henry (Teresa) Lewis of South Shore, Kentucky, Joey (Jeannette) Lewis of Ashland, Kentucky, two daughters, Patricia Shaffer of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Brandy (Nikolay) Markova of Russell, Kentucky, one brother, James Walker Lewis of Firebrick, Kentucky, six grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Haley, Jerrod, Brianna and Andrew, three great-grandchildren, Lilly, Kamryn and Peyton.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Bob Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow in Bentley Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 from 6 till 8 P.M. and from 1 P.M. till the Funeral hour at 2 P.M. on Sunday.
