Deward Morris Jr., 92 of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away, March 30, 2022 in the SOMC Hospice Care Center. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, March 4, 1930, a son of the late Deward Morris Sr. and Della Shaw Morris. Deward was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Preceded in death besides his parents are his wife, Edith Faye Morris (nee Hawkins), Feb. 16, 2018, one daughter, Shirley (Mike) Baran, brother, Robert Morris and one sister, Shirley Morris.

Surviving are his children, Sharon (John) Kesterson, June (Mike Coad) Morris, George (Lisa) Morris, Timothy Morris and Trina (Alan) Fenn all of Ohio, sisters, Fannie (Chuck) Groo, Mary Rowland and Helen (Dude) Evans all of Ohio, fifteen grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and the Hawkins Family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Scott Rawlings, officiating. Burial will follow in the MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Military graveside services will be provided by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
