David "Duke" Dowdy, 44, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, March 6, 1969, a son of Wayne Dowdy SR and Charlotte Conley Dowdy. Duke attended Greenup County High School. He was very well known around the area and had many friends. He was known for his fun loving personality that friends and family will always remember, he loved dirt track racing and enjoyed the years he spent racing a street stock at Portsmouth Raceway Park. He was a Union Millwright member of Local 1519, South Point, Ohio. He was loved and will be missed by many. Preceded in death by a daughter, Chantelle Dowdy, step mother, Denise Boggs Dowdy, grandparents, William "Bill" and Grace Dowdy and Huey and Opal Callicoat. Surviving are one daughter, Amber Dowdy Pate and one son, David Lee Dowdy both of Minford, Ohio, two brothers, Butch and Mark Dowdy both of South Shore, KY, three sisters, Teresa Dowdy Craycraft, Charmaine Dowdy Kennard and Nikki Dowdy Wright all of South Shore, KY and Many nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 P.M. Saturday June 8, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with  Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial will be in MT Zion Cemetery, South Shore, KY.
