Darlena P. Timberlake Ratliff, 101, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born Sept. 22, 1912, a daughter of the late James Arthur Timberlake and Mary Elizabeth Smith Timberlake.
She was married to Alex Ratliff, Jan. 21, 1927 and was a life-time member of Sunshine United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Ratliff on Oct. 23, 1973, two sons, Lloyd Ratliff, Died at birth and Denver Lee Ratliff, one granddaughter, Patricia Ann Potter, one brother, Floyd (Geneva) Timberlake, two sisters, Thelma (Harold) Cooper and Alberta (Earl Sr.) Felty.
Surviving are one son, Boyd Eugene (Betty) Ratliff, one daughter, Geneva Mae (Robert) Evans, one daughter in law, Vivian Helen Ratliff, one brother, James(Janet Deceased) Timberlake, one sister, Alma (Jerry Deceased) Kirk, eleven grandchildren, Stephen Lee (Rita) Ratliff, Beverly Jane(Terry) Potter, Teresa Anne (Mike Deceased) Tinsley, Joseph Dean Ratliff, Tammy Renee (Don) Hensley, Tracy Anette (John) Glockner, Anthony Alex Ratliff, James Robert (Tina) Evans, John Randall (April) Evans, Joseph Richard (Stacy) Evans, Janene Remae (James) Hoffman, twenty four great grandchildren, Ami Sue (Kris) Bartee, Adam Forest (Molly) Ratliff, Kyle Potter, Julie (Jonathan) Byrne, Nikki (Mike) Whitley, Emily Tinsley, Davi Jo (Brandon) Craycraft, James Hensley, Alex Glockner, Ryan Glockner, Maisy Glockner, Jeremy (Melissa) Evans, Ashley (Travis) Anderson, Joshua (Kaitlynn) Evans, Erin Evans, Alyssa Evans, Isaac Evans, Kristin Evans, Tyler Evans, Jacob Evans, Alexia Evans, Whitney (Alex) Berger, Sara (Jordan) Clark, Allison Ratliff, eight great great grandchildren, Remington Bartee, Tate Ratliff, Allison Whitley, Adelyn Whitley, Abigail Craycraft, Desmond Clark, Amelia Evans, Hayley Berger.
Funeral services 11 A.M. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Sunshine United Methodist Church in South Shore, Kentucky, with Rev. David Herndon and Brother William Oakes, officiating. Burial will be in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Sunshine United Methodist Church from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Friday and from 10 A.M. till the funeral hour on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sunshine United Methodist Church building fund.
