Obituary

Chester F. Rayburn, 78, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, passed away, Oct. 19, 2016 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in West Portsmouth, Ohio, May 10, 1938, a son of the late Henry Farris Rayburn and Helen Elizabeth Bobst Rayburn. Chester was a United States Navy Veteran and of the Methodist Faith. Preceded in death by one grandson, Bryan Dale Rayburn, one sister, Louise McGinnis. Surviving are three sons, Roy D. (Cathy) Rayburn of Quincy, Kentucky, Steven (Susan) Austin of South Shore, Kentucky and Tracy (Lisa) Rayburn of Irmo, South Carolina, one daughter, Samantha (Bill) Branham of South Shore, Kentucky, five brothers, Ronald (Donna) Rayburn of Columbus, Ohio, Everett (Gretta Potter) Rayburn of Winchester, Kentucky, Kenneth Rayburn of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Darrell Rayburn of North Carolina and Bob (Mary) Rayburn of Columbus, Ohio, one sister, Phyllis (Ronald) Crawford of Portsmouth, Ohio, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Acy Gibson, officiating. Burial will follow in Collier Memorial Gardens, South Portsmouth, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 from 6 till 8 P.M. and from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour on Sunday.
