Cheryl A. Moore, 69, of South Shore, KY, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 18, 2026, at her residence. She was born on September 1, 1957, in Portsmouth, OH, a daughter of the late Carl Edward Felty and Wanda Jane Brown Felty.

In her nearly 20 years as the first woman Mayor of South Shore, Cheryl exemplified civic leadership: she oversaw the purchase and improvements to the water and sewer systems, raised money to upgrade South Shore’s Amtrak station, and revitalized the rotary park and city streets. Beyond her work as mayor, Cheryl has dedicated her life to improving the lives of others through her work with the Lions Club, volunteering at multiple youth organizations, and through her dedication to her clients at H&R Block.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Larry Moore; two sons, Ryan (Tara) Moore of Mountain Side, NJ, and Russell (Anna) Moore of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, Lincoln Moore and Carson Moore; one grand-kitty, Jareth; two sisters, Lola (Gearold) Ashley of Minford, OH, and Carrie (Ray) Snyder of Columbus, OH; along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Brett Unger officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
