Charles W. Porter, 62, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away Jan. 9, 2015 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in South Portsmouth, Kentucky Nov. 24, 1952, a son of the late Raymond Porter and Gladys Arthur Porter, a member of the Peoples Tabernacle Church in West Portsmouth, Ohio, former employee of Mitchellace and Glockner Auto Credit.
Survivng are his wife, Mattie Jeanie Porter of West Portsmouth, Ohio; one daughter, Stephanie Porter "Todd Bower" of Portsmouth, Ohio; two brothers, William "Patty" Porter of South Portsmouth, Kentucky and Franklin Porter of West Portsmouth, Ohio; three sisters, Louise Hall of South Portsmouth, Kentucky Carolyn "George" Carver of South Portsmouth, Kentucky and Rosie Cantrell of McDermott, Ohio; one grandson, Westlee. Many nieces and nephew and his Glockner Employee family to whom he loved.
Preceded in death by five brothers, James, Walter, Robert, George and Raymond Porter; as well as three sisters, Virginia Glispie, Thelma Porter and Lutricia Sensabaugh.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at the Peoples Tabernacle in West Portsmouth, Ohio with Rev. Bennie Musick, officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery, Stout, Ohio. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. till the funeral hour at the Church on Monday.
