Charles Forbes Jr., 87 of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Charlie was born in Ashland, Kentucky, Oct. 31, 1929, a son of the late Charles H. Forbes and Bertha Campbell Forbes. He was a Navy War Veteran serving on the USS Boxer, member of The Sunshine United Methodist Church, member of the Harrison Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937, South Shore, KY and a Charter member of the Greenup County Wildlife Club, South Shore, KY. Charlie was a retired salesman for Western Southern Insurance Company. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Ensor Forbes to whom he married Dec. 26, 1949, two daughters, Gail (Philip) Howerton of South Shore, KY, Jeanie (Mark) Prince of Wheeling, WV, one brother, Carl (Janet) Forbes of South Shore, KY, three grandchildren, Brad Howerton, Nicole Prince and Aaron Prince and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Rev. Norman Potter, Rev. Bob Sweeney and Brother Brad Howerton, officiating. Burial will follow in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, KY. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 5 till 8 P.M. on Sunday May 21, 2017 and one hour before service time on Monday.
