Bessie M. Howell, 85, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away March 20, 2014 in Heartland of Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born January 30, 1929 in South Shore, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Hubert Morris and Bertha Conley Morris. Preceded in death by one son, Edward Howell, two sisters, Opal Morris Thompson and Pauline Morris. Surviving are her husband, Lester Gilbert Howell Jr, one son, Lester Gilbert Howell III, two sisters, Glenna Slark of Portsmouth, Ohio, Betty Morris of South Shore, Kentucky, four brothers, Paul Morris, Bill Morris, Bob Morris all of South Shore, Kentucky and George Morris of McArther, Ohio, five grandsons, one granddaughter, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral Services 1 P.M. Sunday, March 23, 2014 at South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church, with Brother Maurice Pierce, officiating. Burial will be in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church, 721 Main Street, South Shore, Kentucky from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 and from 12 Noon till the Funeral hour on Sunday.
