Bennie Harold Mineer, 83, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, August 8. He was the son of Cecil Mineer and Nellie (Sparks) Mineer Logan of Squire, WV. He served in the US Army, Fort Belfore, VA during the Korean War as a Special Clerk of Engineering. He had a degree in the National Radio Institute and worked in radio and television services in Washington DC, and retired from the N&W RR.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Jean Mineer, 1964 and son James Allen Mineer, 1965.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy L (Smith) Mineer, and children; Frances Cooper of Kettering, Ohio, Donna and Bill Turner of South Shore, Kentucky, John Mineer of South Shore, Kentucky and Jim Mineer of Columbus, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He played music and served in offices of his church throughout his lifetime. He worked as a TV repairman, Radio DJ and Microwave Tech for the N&W RR.
Services will be held at the Roberson Funeral Home, South Shore, Kentucky at 1 P.M. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M. on Thursday. Burial will follow at the Tollesboro Cemetery, Tollesboro, Kentucky.
Military graveside services by the Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438 of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
