Roy Michael Glispie, 76, of Portsmouth, OH., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born in South Shore, KY., April 5, 1947 a son of the late Wesley and Iva Sexton Glispie.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Gary Glispie.
He was a 1965 graduate of McKell High School, he received his Mortuary Science Degree from Mid-America College of Funeral Service and he was a Shriner. Roy retired from the Pipe Fitter Union, Local 440 out of Indianapolis, IN.
Left behind to cherish his memory are one daughter, Wendy (James) Damron; one stepson, Jeff Carson; three grandchildren, TJ Arrowood, Wesleigh (Whitney) Jackson and Jaleigh (David) Walker; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Abigail, Viya, Breckyn and Branson; one brother, Danny Glispie; best friend, Randy Cooper; his beloved dog; Achilles and several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones, going on car rides with his dog, Nascar, Rock & Roll music, riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar. He was proud of his daughter, grandchildren and always made sure they knew he loved them.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Donny McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
