James Walker Lewis JR, 90, of Firebrick, KY., passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born in Greenup County, KY., September 16, 1926 a son of the late Walker and Martha Castle Lewis.
James was a Navy World War II Veteran and attended the Firebrick Christian Baptist Church.
Besides his parent he is preceded in death by his wife Pearl Lewis whom passed away June 2014, one daughter Alice Barnhouse, three brothers Dewey Lewis, Joe Lewis and J.B. Lewis, three sisters Virgie Bentley, Vada Workman and Verna Jobe, two grandchildren Loretta Pierce and Billy McCray.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his  two sons Tim (Valerie) Lewis of South Shore, KY., and Michael (Fonda) Lewis of Portsmouth, OH., two daughters Glenna Veach of Firebrick, KY., and Jackie (Bill) McCray of South Shore, KY. Also Surviving are eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Rev. Raymond Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Firebrick Cemetery in Firebrick, KY. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Thursday from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour.
