Henry Howard, 86, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Nov. 3, 2017 at Prestine Senior Living in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky, June 1, 1931, a son of the late Harris Howard and Carlie Thomas Howard, Henry was a member of First Christian Church in South Shore, 57 years in Harrisin Fullerton Lodge #937, 47 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, South Shore, Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. Henry loved the outdoors, golf, fishing and hunting, he was thankful for his brother-in-laws for teaching him to play the guitar, he loved to share with his friends a sling shot he made and wood carving. Henry is now free of pain.
Preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sudell Howard.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Joseph Howard to whom he married on March 27, 1953,two sons, Steve (Cindy) Howard of South Shore, Kentucky, Joe (Vickie) Howard of Fayetteville, West Virginia, one daughter, Cathy Roberts of Clarksville, Georgia, two brothers, Creed (Teen) Howard of Columbus, Ohio, Dana Howard of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister Charlotte (Danny) Hayden of South Shore, Kentucky, seven grandchildren, Matt Howard, Ginny Singleton, Allison Delong, Tom Howard, Elizabeth Howard, Astraea Howard and Stephen Roberts, five great grandchildren, Mylie Padgett, Will Howard, Josie Howard, Ryan Kasen and Corbin Singleton, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Brett Unger, officiating. Burial will follow in Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Greenup, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 till 8 P.M. on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 and from 9 A.M. till the Funeral hour on Monday.
Military graveside services will be held by James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Christian Church, South Shore, Kentucky.
